This sweet senior is Ismael! Ismael is a 9 year old Shih Tzu who weighs 13 pounds. He comes into rescue from Texas where he has not had a very good life. He was in bad shape when we got to him...his fur missing from a case of mange, his skin raw and sore, and to top it off this sweetheart is mostly blind in his right eye and has reduced sight in his left. He has gotten all the medical care he needed and now he is ready to meet the lucky person that can love and cherish him for the rest of his days! He is such a precious boy! He often acts like a harmless grumpy old man with a crabby look on his face! He tries to play tough and growls randomly or if he’s sitting with you and another dog approaches...he doesn’t want anyone messing with his cuddle time! He seems fine with other dogs when he isn’t in his humans lap. He loves his people and is a little shadow. He will jump on your lap every chance he gets to snuggle. He’s potty and crate trained. Being blind does not slow him down but he will need some patience while he’s learning to navigate in his new forever dream home!
