This adorable little prince is Peanut. Peanut is a 2 year old Chihuahua mix who weighs 6 pounds and comes into rescue from Texas. He was hit by a car and found on the side of the road by someone who saw him get hit. For one week Peanut laid suffering and in pain with the finder who did not find it necessary to seek immediate medical care for him. After a week when Peanut was only getting worse, they then decided to drop him off at a high kill shelter. We then were able to step in for poor Peanut and transferred him to our medical partner. Sadly, his wounds were so severe and left untreated for too long and now our sweet Peanut will be left paralyzed. He has a compression fracture in his spine, and his legs are terribly injured as well. The great news for Peanut is that he is safe and on his way to a happy new life. We will get him fitted for some wheels so he can get around and he will be recovering with a great medical foster who specializes in paralyzed dogs. Peanut is a tiny bundle of joy despite what he has been through and will make an amazing addition to any home! He is friendly with people of all ages and other dogs and will be neutered and up to date on vaccines prior to placement in his forever home.
