Meet Pete! Pete is the cutest long haired chihuahua mix who weighs 8 pounds and comes into rescue from Texas. This poor boy was tied up outside with an embedded collar and the slack from what little lead room he had got wrapped tightly around his right front leg. He was in this condition for so long that the circulation to his leg was cut off and he suffered some muscle atrophy. The great news is that Pete’s neck has healed well and he will not need amputation for his leg. As the muscle continues to heal he continues to use the leg more and more! He does weight Bear on the leg and is not in any pain but may always have a slight limp. He is the sweetest boy and romps and plays like nothing was ever wrong with him! He is amazing and will make a very special cuddle companion to the lucky one that gets to adopt him. He is friendly with people of all ages and other dogs and will be neutered and up to date on vaccines prior to placement in his forever home. If you would like to make cutie pie Pete the newest member of your home and heart, please fill out an adoption application for him here! Http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org
