Meet Farrah! Farrah was rescued from South Carolina and is now a full fledged city girl. Farrah is a sweet senior (9-10 yrs old)  Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix and weighs in at 18 lbs. She is best described as the chill quiet type. Farrah is leash trained, knows basic commands, listens well, is housetrained, but asks politely to not be in a crate. Despite her lack of sight due to diabetes, Farrah is fearless. City noise, loud sounds, thunder don't phase her a bit. Although she is good with all dogs, Farrah shows more interest in dogs her own size and would do well with another senior or dog with the same energy level.  She is sweet and silly and it shows when out on the town. People are constantly stopping to say hello and give her a pet. Farrah has done well with kids while out on walks and is patient and calm with supervised interaction.  Farrah is used to her people being home most of the day, but is a champ when left alone for a full workday. Farrah is very much a lazy girl who likes to Netflix and chill with her people, but does enjoy a leisurely walk in the neighborhood. Farrah’s ideal day is sunbathing in the backyard, praying someone will give her a treat, followed by cuddle time under a blanket with her people. Farrah is content lounging in her bed, but also likes to be in the same room as her people. She will also remind you when she thinks it's time to watch a movie or to go to sleep. Farrah is a very special girl but also has special needs. Her diabetes management requires daily insulin injections, but she handles them like a champ. Farrah LOVES food. Meal time is probably what she thinks about the most and needs to be kept on a regular meal schedule to keep her stable. Farrah is nearly blind due to cataracts that are a result of her condition, but she navigates a room with confidence. So much so, that stairs in the home will need to be gated.  Adopting a senior with special needs may seem intimidating at first. These details are honestly the least interesting things about this sweet and silly girl. Despite her previous life, she still has so much unconditional love to give if you’re willing to give just as much back. Please apply online to adopt Farrah as http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org
