“The sweetest dog in the world” is how Major's dog walker described him and the fanfare is beyond deserved!  Major is a male Pit Bull Terrier mix born in 2009 and rescued in South Carolina.  After his arrival from South Carolina, Major proved himself to be the most well-behaved, mellow, tender-hearted pup despite surviving a very difficult past. He was brought to a SC animal hospital after being attacked by another dog, covered in wounds and needing surgery to repair his ear and face. Major recovered for a month and veterinary staff provid ed much-needed TLC, vaccinations, a microchip, neutering, and rehab. Major is now a healthy 10 year-old active, senior pittie, pure white with adorable ear polka dots, with a heart of gold and habit of nudging his head in everyone's laps. He is excellent and loving with all adults, kids, and dogs and is nonreactive with cats. Being the perfect gentleman he is, Major learned sit, stay, down, paw, and crate in the first two weeks. And he's housetrained.  Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks?

Major is currently in foster living in a small NYC apartment with full-time working humans and does well, but as a social animal at heart, we see him thriving in a household with more people, dogs, and companionship. Will you be this softie's angel and give him the loving home he always deserved?  Please apply online at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.
