Mack was found in Alabama tied up to a pole, abandoned, standing on hot cement. The shelter thought he had burnt the bottom of his paws as he was having trouble with them. We brought Mack into rescue and our veterinary partner xray'd both of this front legs/feet. Mack has suffered at least two injuries, separately and likely due to trauma, to his toes on both front feet. The injury on one foot is older than the injury on the other. Mack is a 7 month old Lab male who is a big boy, weighing in at approximately 35 to 40 pounds. He is sweet, but timid, understandably so. Mack is good with people and with other dogs. Our veterinary partner feels that since the injuries have started healing, its best for him to be on crate rest and let them heal. The other option is amputation, but since those are weight bearing digits, that is really not adviseable if can be avoided. Mack is truly a great puppy who suffered horribly and we would love to see him happy with a family.
