Matilda (AL) is a female Shepherd mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Matilda is 10 years old at the time of intake in September 2020. Matilda is good with people of all ages and other dogs.  Our hearts broke once again when the shelter told us about Matilda--a beautiful senior girl who has obviously only known a long life of neglect and abuse at the hands of the person who was supposed to protect and love her.  She has never known love, a kind word or a gentle touch. She just had litter after litter after litter her entire life.  But that ends right now.  Matilda is at our veterinary partner being treated for some skin, eye conditions and arthritis and she is receiving the TLC that she lacked her entire life.  Although Matilda is sad and broken and lacks confidence, she will soon realize that people can be kind and life can be good and this is the start to the rest of her life.
