Willow (GA) is a female Labrador Retriever mix rescued in the south. Our veterinary partner estimates that Willow is 9 months old at the time of intake in September 2020. Willow was brought into a kill shelter with one of the worst cases of an embedded collar that we have ever seen. Willow would likely have been immediately euthanized at the shelter for medical reasons, but in an effort to save this sweet girl's life, someone asked Rescue Dogs Rock NYC to save Willow, and we of course said YES! Willow was immediately rushed off to our veterinary partner for surgery to remove the embedded collar. She healed well and is now ready to set out on her journey to a happy ever after in a loving forever home. Our veterinary partner believes that Willow is be deaf or at least suffers hearing loss. Willow is
super dog friendly, loves everyone she meets (but everyone needs to understand that she can’t hear, so no sneaking up on her if she’s eating or sleeping), is cat friendly (playful though), and horse friendly. She enjoys miles of walks each day, loves to hike and loves the water! Willow has lots of energy, so a fenced in yard and a very active family or doggy siblings who can keep up with her are a must. Willow is learning hand signals, including a safe way to wake her, and her forever family should commit to continuing that training. Willow is soft as a bunny, and even sleeps through the night in her very own bed. If you’re considering adding some sweetness to your family,
