Fernando (TX) is a male Chihuahua mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Fernando is 3 years old at the time of intake in October 2020. Fernando is good with people of all ages and other dogs.  Fernando came into rescue with a horrific eye injury that required removal of his left eye.  Fernando has had a very rough first couple of years but that is all behind him now. His new life of love, snuggles and butt wiggles has just begun and although he's never looking back, he is looking for his forever home.  Fernando came into rescue shy and scared, but every day he opens up a little bit more and we get to see his personality shine.  There is no other place Fernando would rather be than in a lap or in your arms. He’s a snuggly, sleepy pup for most of the day but when he plays, he keeps himself entertained and it’s so fun to watch.  Fernando has learned to adjust to life with just one eye and has learned how to navigate most staircases, even if it takes him a few tries.  Fernando gets along great with his foster doggy sibling but at this point isn't so sure about unfamiliar dogs while on leash.  If you have room in your lap and would like to be Fernando's Person, please apply online to adopt Fernando (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.
