Bear (SC) is a male Hound/Shepherd mix rescued in South Carolina. Our veterinary partner estimates that Bear is 6 months old at the time of intake in February 2021.  Bear is good with people.  Bear's life consisted of day after day after day of horrific abuse until the day he was finally rescued.  Bear was tethered outside his entire life, ignored to the extent that his owner didn't even know that the metal tie line was wrapped around Bear's leg several times and embedded in his skin.  Bear had no one to save him, so he chewed the metal line until he was free and then he ran for his life and left that place behind forever.  When Bear was rescued, the wire was still embedded in his skin.  Bear suffered cuts to his mouth from chewing the tie line and injuries to his leg, but miraculously, he has no permanent injuries and has healed up nicely.   Bear is soooo sweet and he's such a good boy. He is very playful outside. Bear barks a bit for attention but who can blame him considering the life he has led? Bear is great with all dogs, and he walks fine on a leash. He is also fully crate trained.
