Charlie (TX) is a neutered male Pit Bull Terrier/Hound mix rescued from the streets of Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Charlie is a year old at the time of intake in June 2021. Charlie is great with people and other dogs.  When we found Charlie he was suffering from a skin infection and was unable to walk.  With excellent veterinary care, Charlie has completely recovered and you would never know that he ever had an issue walking.  Charlie is sweet and goofy and oh, those gorgeous eyes!  He is energetic, super friendly, and LOVES to play with other dogs.  In fact, he can play a bit rough and tumble, but takes cues easily to slow down.  This boy is so incredibly friendly with every person, kid and dog he meets. We have seen zero guarding of any kind, he is crate trained, loves the car, takes treats so gently. His best life will be lived in a home where he isn't alone all day as he has too much energy for that, where he has a sturdy doggy sibling who will play with him, where he has a fenced yard to burn off more of that energy, and where he has a busy, active family with kids and friends coming in and out all day and where he will go to baseball, soccer, football games and cheer on his human siblings. He could easily be the neighborhood dog who everyone knows and loves. Charlie is housetrained and is working on his leash manners. RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption.
