Lena (AL) is a spayed female Border Collie mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Lena is 17 weeks old at the time of intake in July 2021. Lena is good with people and other dogs.  At time of placement, Lena will be current on basic vaccinations appropriate for her age and she has already been spayed.  This beautiful pup's life has been filled with nothing but sadness until the day she was rescued.  We found her in a ditch on the side of a road trying to protect her Momma, who was dying.  Lena had whip worms which were wreaking havoc on her body and a leg injury.  We took both Lena and her Momma in, and despite our veterinarian's efforts, we couldn't save her Momma.  She is a very sweet little girl and deserves so much more than life has given her.
