Penny (SC) came to rescue from a shelter in the Carolinas.  Penny is estimated by our veterinary partner to be 3 years old at time of intake at the end of Sept 2021. She currently weighs approximately 25 pounds. Penny is great with people and other dogs.  She is medium energy, but active. She loves going for walks, loves playing with other dogs, and she naps on and off during the day when not engaged. She is predominantly a Beagle perhaps blended with Dachshund, it's so hard to tell!  Penny has a beautiful black shiny soft coat and loves to cuddle right up against you.  She is extremely gentle and sweet.  She is also good on a leash and seems to know a few basic commands.  She will require exercise at least twice a day to tucker her out.  Nothing that a good walk will not take care of!  Penny will do best in a home with children 10 years old and up.  She does seem to have a fairly strong prey drive.  It may be for wild animals only, but it is unknown how she would react to cats.
