Maggie (AL) is a female Chesapeake Bay Retriever blend whom was estimated by our veterinary partner to be 3 years old at the time of intake in April 2022.  Maggie (AL) is good with people, other dogs and even cats!  Maggie came into rescue with her 6-week-old puppies in tow, but now everyone has grown and it's time for all to find their forever families, Maggie too!

Maggie (AL) foster mom says the following about her: " Maggie gets along very well with my cat and wants love from everyone she meets. I’ve never met a dog that enjoys affection over food more than Maggie. With that being said, cuddle time is taken seriously over here! She knows that potty happens outside. When outside, Maggie would do best with a fenced in yard. If not actively giving her attention she tends to roam but will come to her name!

There’s no fear of cars or loud noises. She does great inside the car as well. She does not do well inside a crate and prefers to lay on the couch waiting for me to get home. Maggie has no destructive behavior and can be trusted. I couldn’t think of a more perfect companion for a first time owner. She’s a low maintenance and low energy girl. Lastly, this sweet girl does best around low-medium energy dogs. High energy pups will make her anxious. Maggie has been such a joy to foster and I know she’ll make her future family so happy!" If you would like Maggie to join your family, please apply online to adopt Maggie (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.
