Havana (NY) is a purebred Cane Corso rescued in New York. Havana was born on December 23, 2019. She is good with people and other dogs.  What a sad, sad story this beautiful, regal girl has to tell.  She was purchased from a breeder in Bosnia and was transported to the United States to live a life of neglect and abuse.  Her family could not afford veterinary care for Havana, so when her ears got so infected over the years that they were no longer salvageable, and the cherry eye she developed in both eyes was so painful to Havana, they dumped her at a kill shelter without regard for the fact that she would not make it out alive.  But now that Havana is a Rescue Dogs Rock NYC girl, she will get all of the medical care, including multiple surgeries, that she requires to be comfortable once again.  We are told that Havana lived with 3 children (ages 8, 10 and 11) and another big dog. She is sweet, playful, relaxed and gives paw! Havana is a big girl at 125 lbs, which is appropriate for her breed.  If you have room in your heart and home to turn this sweetheart's life around, please apply online to adopt Havana (NY) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.
