Barney (AL) is a male possibly Basset Hound mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Barney is 5 months old at the time of intake in June 2023. Barney is good with people and other dogs. Barney was in terrible condition when he was picked up as a stray. Not only was Barney dehydrated, but he had a painful, itchy skin condition which was exacerbated by an infestation of parasites living on his skin. He was also suffering with a dangerous rectal prolapse. We immediately rushed Barney to our veterinary partner for lifesaving treatment, which included surgery, and now Barney is ready to start the amazing life we promised him. Barney is a sweet, friendly guy who will bring lots of love and snuggles to his forever family. He loves to play outside but is also content lying inside on the rug.
