Hickory (AL) is a male Hound/Labrador Retriever mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Hickory is 6 months old at the time of intake in August 2023. This sweet guy was in rough shape when we found him and we suspect the life he has lived thus far has been even rougher. Hickory was brought into rescue with his Momma and sister, and his sister sadly didn't make it. We are providing Hickory with the best veterinary care available to treat his serious skin infection, upper respiratory infection and parasites. Hickory has lived his entire life outside with little human contact, and he needs a patient family who will give him the time he needs to acclimate to life inside as a member of a family. Despite his past, the fact that he feels really crummy and his sister is gone, Hickory has shown a sweet, friendly side. And we can't wait to see how beautiful this boy is when his skin heals and his fur grows back.
