Kato, a handsome Labrador/Pitie mix is with us for no fault of his own. After “camping”  in other people’s homes, night after night, Kato and his master were not welcome as a pair anymore..Kato had to go and was brought to the Manhattan Care Center, the very place he was adopted from as a small puppy , eight year ago… Kato’s owner loved his dog. There is not a doubt about it. He has been absolutely outstandingly cared for. He looks so healthy(beside some lipomas that the master probably could not afford to have removed), in great physical shape, active and his coat shines in the sun. What a masterpiece of a dog ! He has not mingled with kids but is friendly to cats and strangers, is house trained, frequented a dog park, followed his master on a bike, is very playful and well mannered when alone in the house . Kato, understandably is stressed at the care center. His whole world, his Master, is not with him anymore. Whom to refer to, whom to obey, to be loyal to, whom to cuddle with on the bed at night ? Kato is lost although trying to find his bearings. He cries, sometimes barks. I do not speak dog language but I can hear his pain…Kato walks well on the leash, sniffs a lot his surroundings, meets in a civil way other dogs, sits on command and comes at once when i call him.  He has such a beautiful face and gentle eyes  when i caress him… Kato is in great shape (although a tiny bit overweight) and a great dog who has still quite a number of years to give a new master if he is given the chance  to be adopted. A veterinarian will have to look at him of course and decide if the growths are worth removing. Kato needs you. I know he will make an awesome and loyal friend. Will you be his  lucky star?
